Former American Idol finalist Kimberly Caldwell will be hitting the red carpet in style this weekend as a reporter for TV Guide Channel's Oscar countdown. We asked the Texas beauty what she's looking forward to about the big event.

Are you excited about Sunday's telecast?
Yes! Rosanna Tavares and I are doing the live red carpet on the TV Guide Channel for the countdown to the Oscars. That's on Sunday at 3:30 EST/2:30 C /12:30 PST, and then Joan and Melissa Rivers are going to be followed by us.

What are you looking forward to the most about covering the event?
I love the fact that the Oscars are probably more dressed up than any other awards show. Normally we wear pretty cocktail dresses but now we're getting to wear actual gowns and just get really glammed up. I might even do hair extensions. I've had short hair forever so we might add a cute little ponytail, I'm not sure yet. The Oscars are where the most respected actors are and that's where the biggest names are so this will be an opportunity to interview people I haven't had a chance to interview yet.

Who helped you decide what you'll wear to the show?
Our awesome stylist team and crew over at TV Guide is amazing. They picked out about 10 dresses for me and I tried them all on yesterday and it ended up that the first dress I tried on is the dress that I will be wearing. It never, ever, ever happens that way. Usually we try on 10 to 12 dresses and none of them are the perfect dress and then we have to go on a scavenger hunt for the perfect dress. But this was the first one I tried on and its cool and long and absolutely stunning, so I'm really excited.

What beauty items do you carry with you when you're on a red carpet to stay fresh?
My number one beauty item is my makeup artist! He's amazing ? I love him! It's so hard when you're out there on the red carpet because you don't have a mirror and you have no clue what you look like. But he always carries a tube of MAC lip glass and a huge powder puff.

Who are you looking forward to interviewing this year?
I've actually interviewed Charlize Theron before and I know she's going to be there. I'm really excited about seeing her again - she's always stunning. And then I watched Walk the Line last night and I'm a huge fan of Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon so I'd love to interview them. And what girl wouldn't want to interview George Clooney, Jake Gyllenhaal, Heath Ledger and, of course, the entire cast of Crash? Terence Howard is probably the one I'm most excited to interview because I've had the biggest crush on him since I don't even know how long ago. He's just amazing in every movie I've ever seen him in.

Who has the best red carpet style?
My initial reaction is Charlize Theron. There's always those stars who always look amazing but then there's that one time when you think, "Ugh ? what were they thinking?" But Charlize Theron, no matter what, any time you see her on the red carpet she looks like perfection. But next to her I'm really a big fan of Scarlett Johansson and her style as well.

If you could ask any celebrity a question, who would it be and what would you want to ask them?
Probably Matthew McConaughey and would you be my date. But of course he would say, well Penelope Cruz is my date so see ya.

Who would you likey to see take home a statue at this year's ceremony?
Felicity Huffman ? I'm a huge fan of hers. But after watching Reese Witherspoon really portray June Carter Cash as well as she did in Walk the Line I'd love to see her take home an award.
