Thanks so very much to everyone who sent me letters, cards and gifts! I always love reading your letters. I was able to make a trip to Texas for about a week for the Christmas holidays and had a wonderful time catching up with family and friends back home.

While I was in Texas, I had the honor of performing the National Anthem at the final home game of the season for the Houston Texans. The whole experience was absolutely super and I had a fabulous time, not to mention getting to check out some of those hot football players!

Some upcoming events that I'll be covering for the TV Guide Channel are the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards. Also, we are still doing our weekly show, TV Chat, and I'm doing the MVids for TV Guide Spot which you can catch "On Demand" on cable or on www.tvguide.com Our "Idol Chat" show has been renewed for the upcoming season, so make sure and check that out too! We should start shooting that sometime in January.

As I've told you before, my recording with Diane Warren and Randy Jackson is not going at the pace I would like, which is very frustrating and disappointing, but I have been working in the studio with an independent producer on some of my original music and it's going great! With my other commitments, my time to devote in the studio is limited, but we have one song that's completely recorded and ready to complete the final mix and we have two others that we're nearly done writing. I'll be in the studio recording them in the next few weeks. I'll have some clips ready for you all to hear soon!
