Anchor: Last week, America voted for Carmen to stay on and the Idol saying goodbye that time was Kimberly Caldwell. Well, today we welcome Kimberly to Headline News to share her experiences. She joins us this morning from New York. Kimberly, good morning to you. How are you?
Kimberly: Hey guys! How ya doing?
Anchor: Very good, thanks. What was the first thought that went through your mind -- Ryan Seacrest, the host, kind of turned it around on the audience by saying "Carmen.."--
Kimberly: I know, he always does that to me.
Anchor: But what was your reaction when you realized it was you?
Kimberly: You know, I don't think anyone is ever ready to go when it's your turn but, you know, I just look at is as a positive thing and I'm really hoping to, you know, focus on my career now. And it was a great stepping stone so, you know, I'm glad I got to be there at all.
Anchor: Kimberly, you're so young but you've already had a pretty long career on stage but the pressure has to be completely different when you come on a show like that and then you get down to the final twelve and the pressure leads itself down to the final eight and final seven, how do you adapt to that?
Kimberly: Well, you know, it is a competition but at the same time we try not to think of it like that or it wouldn't be any fun so we were more like a team and more like a support group for each other than competitors.
Anchor: Alright, well, take the gloves off now. Lovey-dovey time is over. Who do you think is going to win and who do you think is going to get it tonight?
Kimberly: Oh gosh, I have no clue who is going to go tonight. I don't think anybody deserves to go and they have all worked so hard to get to where they are and they're so incredibly talented and I think Ruben might pull through in the very end.
Anchor: Ruben might pull through in the end?
Kimberly: Yeah, representin' Alabama.
Anchor: You know, last night, and I'm sure you probably got to watch last night's show, the judges were pretty tough on Carmen. And Carmen was the one who you were in the bottom three with last week and the one that got to stay. Do you think she might be the logical pick to go tonight?
Kimberly: I don't know, it just depends, you know? She not only juggles her career right now but she's always juggling, you know, school and she's only eighteen and for her to even be able to deal with this... I know that I couldn't do it at the age of eighteen so I give her total props and I hope she stays around.
Anchor: Kimberly, as we know from the last season, a lot of the top ten came back to perform on the final shows and go on tour and do all that stuff. Are you guys planning on doing that as well? The top twelve?
Kimberly: I actually just heard today that it is definite we are going on tour. And I am totally, totally stoked. So excited. It's going to be awesome.
Anchor: We look forward to it. Kimberly Caldwell who was on American Idol. It was great talking to you.
Kimberly: Thank you. And nice talking to you, as well.
Anchor: And we'll be watching tonight to see what happens.
Kimberly: Yes, I know. I hate Wednesdays.
Anchor: A bad day for you, I'm sure. Kimberly, thanks again, good to see you.
Kimberly: Thank you! Bye.
