Kimberly Caldwell: The Comeback Kid
After years of waiting, this second season “Idol” finalist if finally releasing her debut album, “Without Regret” (out April 6) on Vanguard/Capitol, and it seems as thought she is packing a mighty punch of pop.
Kimberly’s album features four songs co-written by Caldwell as well as tunes written by Diane Warren, Kara DioGuardi and Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger, all hoping to solidify her as one of the few “AI” alumni to not sink into the quicksand of has beens. Her first single “Mess of You,” has hints of a Kelly Clarkson jam with just as much bite as anything you would see P!nk spit out, and the ballad “Say Love” touts raspy vocals with simple guitar chords, resulting in two hits that are bound to have teens everywhere singing out of their convertible Jettas.
